Erik Steele, D.O.
Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Steele serves as chief medical officer for Summa Health System. He joined Summa in 2013.
Prior to his tenure with Summa Health System, Dr. Steele served as chief medical officer and chief administrative officer for EMHA Home Office and senior vice president of a 7 hospital, 30 company Eastern Maine Health System. He also served as executive director of the Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health.
He received his bachelor degree from Bowdoin College, and his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was an intern and chief intern at the University of Medicine and Dentistry Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey and chief resident in for family practice residency at Eastern Main Medical Center in Bangor, Maine.
