Opportunity for Medical Director of the Institute for Seniors and Post Acute Care
Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, seeks an innovative physician leader to serve as medical director of the Institute for Seniors and Post Acute Care. The Institute is renowned for its commitment to innovative value-based treatment of older adults and integrates clinical care, community collaborations, research and physician education to create seamless, evidence based models of care.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership of the Institute and staff across Summa Health System entities and expand the Institute’s programs throughout the system’s five-county service area. In addition, the director is required to represent the Institute for Seniors and Post Acute Care at senior-level system initiatives and advocate for the Institute’s objectives.
Requirements include state of Ohio medical licensure or ability to obtain licensure, ABIM certification in Geriatrics or ABFM certification with a CAQ in Geriatric Medicine and completion of a fellowship training program in Geriatric Medicine. Desired qualifications include five years of experience in a leadership or management role at a progressive geriatric program and experience in medical research and education initiatives.
