Facility offers outpatient services, physician offices and ambulatory surgery center

Akron, Ohio - Summa Health System and NorthEast Ohio Management Service Organization (NEOMSO) broke ground today on the new Health Center at Lake Medina. The 100,000 square-foot facility will offer comprehensive outpatient services, a physician medical office building and an ambulatory surgery center.

From diagnostics to physician offices and same-day surgery, the Health Center at Lake Medina will serve the residents of Medina and surrounding communities. On-site diagnostics capabilities will include radiology, mammography, CAT scan, MRI, ultrasound, bone density testing, physical and occupational therapy and lab services. The center also will include comprehensive radiation and medical oncology services.

Strengthened by positive relationships with physicians in the Medina area, some of whom are members of Summa Physicians, Inc. (SPI), this new facility represents the next step in Summa's dedication to enhancing the region's community healthcare.

In February, Summa and NEOMSO signed a letter of intent to construct and operate the facility that will build on the commitment to further enhance services available in the Medina area, one of the fastest growing communities in Northeast Ohio.

Opening in spring 2010, the new center is located on Route 18, with property situated in both Montville Township and Medina Township. Summa and NEOMSO have worked together with Signet Healthcare, LLC. to secure 10 acres of land needed for the project. An additional 20 acres also have been secured to allow for future development.
