You’ll feel confident in knowing that our joint specialists have decades of experience in treating hip and knee conditions. Their expertise will help improve your quality of life and allow you freedom to return to the activities you enjoy.
The Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center is a leader in hip and knee replacement surgery. We have 19 joint replacement surgeons with over 350 years of experience who have performed thousands of joint procedures each year and have employed all available surgical techniques and technologies to repair your hip or knee to help improve your quality of life and personal freedom.
Higher surgical volumes typically result in better patient outcomes because of an increased familiarity with procedures and improved technique. Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center physicians perform more than 12,000 surgeries a year -- more than most other area hospitals. Our team of medical professionals is dedicated to orthopedic care. You can see our surgeons without a referral, and they can offer a second opinion.
Crystal Clinic Orthopedic Center earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for our commitment to continual improvement for knee, hip, shoulder replacement surgery and spinal fusion. This makes us the only healthcare provider in Ohio certified in all 4 orthopedic areas.
- Spine Fusion (1 of 2 in Ohio, 16 nationally)
- Total Shoulder (1 of 3 in Ohio, 13 nationally)
- Total Knee (1 of 14 in Ohio)
- Total Hip (1 of 15 in Ohio)
The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification Program addresses three core areas: compliance with consensus-based national standards; effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.
Specialization is equally as important as experience when considering orthopedic treatment. In addition to higher volumes, Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center’s specialized care provides:
- Significantly decreased risk of infection
- Shortened length of hospital stay
Research & Education
Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center surgeons are active members of Summa Health System’s teaching and medical education staffs. They continually work to improve upon existing procedures and technology to ensure maximum patient benefit.
Our surgeons also conduct research in a number of venues. One research project is the development of Apatone®B (a combination of vitamins C and K3), a drug that may increase the lifespan of artificial joint replacements and decrease inflammation that sometimes occurs after surgery.
