Care Coordinator

A nurse who helps patients navigate their way through the myriad of calls, tests and appointments they require, assisting them with everything from scheduling appointments to referrals for related services such as reconstructive surgery, massage and clinical therapy.

Registered Nurse (RN)

A health professional who assists in the prevention of disease and injury during the recovery of an illness. A registered nurse also provides support to people experiencing major health difficulties.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Licensed practical nurses work under the direction of a doctor or registered nurse. They answer patients' calls and take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. They also provide basic bedside care, such as treating patients for bedsores, applying dressings, feeding patients and recording their food and liquid intake and output. They often help with other personal care activities, too, such as bathing, dressing or brushing their teeth.

Program Director, Cancer Research

Oversees the activities of the cancer research team and the cancer registry staff. Provides direct supervision as well as acts as a resource for the staff members as they perform their duties.

Cancer Registrar

Responsible for reporting every cancer case diagnosed and/or treated at Summa to the state and national databases. They collect data on the type of cancer, treatment given, and follow up for survival. The cancer registry is a repository of data that is available to Summa for research as well as development of programs for the support and care of our cancer patients.
