Oncology Support Group
The purpose of the Oncology Support Group is to provide a supportive atmosphere where group members can discuss the impact that cancer is having on their lives. All patients, family members and friends who are touched by cancer are welcome to attend. With professional guidance of a social worker, members may discuss their concerns with others who are facing similar challenges.
This group meets in the conference room on the ground floor of the Cooper Cancer Center from 12:00-1:30 p.m. It is held the last Wednesday of every month. Parking is free and lunch is provided. Registration is not necessary. There is no required commitment, please join us when you are able.
You can expect a caring and compassionate group experience. In these meetings you will realize that you are not alone as you make connections with others who are living with a cancer diagnosis. You will receive tips and ideas on how best to cope with your day to day concerns as a patient or caregiver. You will also learn about community and national resources that may benefit you.
At Summa your treatment plan will not only include the best medical care possible but also programs such as the support group to help you live with your illness. We understand that a cancer diagnosis can be difficult both physically and emotionally. We are dedicated to caring for you in a manner that pays attention to all your needs.
