In October 2003, Cyndi Palazzo had a mammogram at Summa. The radiologist discovered she had cancer and then things began to move very quickly.
“I drove home and that radiologist had already called my family doctor. My family doctor had left a message on my machine with a list of surgeons.”
Palazzo’s cancer was aggressive and estrogen receptive. She found a surgeon at Summa who expedited everything including finding a plastic surgeon who performed reconstructive surgery. She also wanted to find a Summa oncologist that would work well with her personality.
“Dr. Trochelman, he was great. Having all the doctors centrally located there is wonderful. I am cancer-free. I have been for five years since the diagnosis and I contribute it to all my great Summa doctors. In my opinion, they’re heroes.”
