Summa Cardiovascular Institute
Summa Cardiovascular Institute (SCVI) is a nationally-recognized healthcare organization dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered heart care. SCVI is the largest multidisciplinary cardiovascular medical team in the tri-county region, delivering a full range of heart services supported by experts from various disciplines. The Institute is comprised of nearly 50 cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, six hospitals, and 15 physician offices locations in Summit, Portage and Medina counties.
SCVI has some of the finest board-certified cardiovascular medicine physicians, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons in the tri-county region, who have trained at some of the country’s most influential universities and hospitals.
Using the latest technology, SCVI was the first in the region to perform minimally invasive, robotic-assisted cardiac surgery. This surgical option can mean a shorter hospital stay, fewer complications, decreased post-operative pain and a quicker recovery.
Summa Cardiovascular Institute offers several outpatient programs which provide support, education and assistance with treatment regimen adherence for patients who are diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, including heart failure, heart attack, stroke, blood clot (thrombus, embolism) and heart disease.
Our team—comprised of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, electrophysiologists, physiologists, vascular surgeons, advance practice nurses, RNs, nurse practitioners, exercise specialists, and technicians—work together to provide optimal, value-centered patient care.
SCVI also participates in robust residency programs that allow recent medical school students and graduates to learn directly from the Institute’s experienced physicians.
