Senior Emergency Care

Summa Akron City Hospital offers the only dedicated emergency center for patients aged 65+ in the Akron area. Many seniors have different healthcare requirements due to complex medical conditions. Summa’s Senior Emergency Department is staffed by clinicians and emergency medicine physicians who participate in ongoing geriatric education.

In addition, at the Senior Emergency Department, patients receive a comprehensive plan including access and support from Summa’s nationally recognized senior programming as well as Summa’s HomeCare and other community services.
