Why did you choose this as your career path?
I love the fact that as Athletic Trainers, you are there to take care of athletes in their moments of need. I love the challenge of figuring out what is wrong with an athlete and helping them to over come the injury.
Your most memorable experience as an ATC?
My most memorable moment as an ATC was when I was covering my first home softball game at The University of Akron. I had just received my certification and was a little nervous about being responsible for the event by myself. In the first inning, my center fielder and left fielder went running full speed towards each other, then dove and collided. They both went limp and did not move. When I reached them, the center fielder was up and walking around. The left fielder, however, was still not moving. She ended up with a gaping cut in her eyebrow and had to have surgery. She had fractured her orbital bone and now has a metal plate holding everything together.
