Just For Dads
As a new dad, you play an important role in ensuring the well-being of both the new mom and the new baby. Serving as the chief provider of physical and emotional support throughout your partner’s labor and delivery can be as stressful for you as the pregnancy, labor and delivery stages are for the new mom. Whether you are a first-time dad or you’ve been through the process before, Summa Health System offers educational programs as well as support groups to assist with effective birth coaching, childcare classes, infant and child CPR/first aid.

And, as a primary point of contact in the new mom’s support network, you may see the new mom experiencing signs of Postpartum Depression (PPD). To help you recognize signs of PPD, take the online assessment tool.
If you are noticing the new mom is experiencing signs of PPD, call (800) 237-8662 to schedule an appointment with a Summa behavioral health specialist.
