Wadsworth Community Center Open House
The City of Wadsworth invites residents and visitors, alike, to an open house at the new Wadsworth Community Center on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All five entities with offerings at the new facility will be available for touring: the SOPREMA Senior Center & Café, Wadsworth Public Library, WCTV, Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and the YMCA.
Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital’s outpatient facility at the Center opens February 4th and will include physical and occupational therapy through Summa Rehab Services, radiology (X-ray), and two sports medicine physicians' offices.
The Wadsworth YMCA oversees the operation of the recreation portion of the facility, which includes 3 indoor pools, a fitness area, and walking track.
The SOPREMA Senior Center & Cafe provides programs, activities and events for seniors of all ages. A full-service kitchen and modern Cafe operated by Windfall Industries in cooperation with the Senior Center is scheduled to open in February.
The Wadsworth Public Library kiosk allows customers to return books, videos and DVDs, or pick up reserved items from secure lockers and access the Library’s website from one of the computer workstations in the kiosk.
Wadsworth Community Television (WCTV), the City of Wadsworth's PEG access television studio offers local television coverage to Wadsworth residents, as well as the opportunity to produce their own shows using equipment provided free of charge.
Adjacent to the new Wadsworth High School, the 70,000-square-foot Community Center provides a variety of resources to the greater Wadsworth area, as well as to the high school. Students will have access to the Community Center's 8-lane competition pool for training and competitive meets; and, the school system’s new field house features four full-size basketball courts and a walking track which will be available for community use through the YMCA.
