Gift Shops
Plants, flowers, gifts and snacks may be purchased in several locations throughout Summa Health System. 

Summa Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals.
Gift shops are operated on behalf of the hospitals by volunteers from the Women's Board of Summa Health System and the Women's Board of Summa St. Thomas Hospital. The gift shops raise tens of thousands of dollars annually for patient-care initiatives. Before making your purchase, please reference the policy regarding plants, flowers and balloons on the respective unit where your loved one is a patient.

Fresh cut flowers, cards, balloons, candy, magazines, baby gifts, jewelry and specialty gift items are available in the gift shop located on the ground floor near the main entrance.

Flower Delivery

Flower and plant arrangements are delivered to patient rooms Monday through Saturday. If you are discharged before your flowers are delivered, the florist will deliver the arrangement to your home the next business day. Flowers are welcome in all areas except critical care units.

Summa Health System chapels are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Patients, family members and guests may visit the chapels for prayer and personal spiritual practice. The chapels also offer visitors the opportunity to write prayers and prayer requests.

The chapel at Summa Akron City Hospital is located on the first floor near the Central Lounge.
The chapel at Summa Barberton Hospital is located on the second floor between the central and south elevators.
The chapel at Summa St. Thomas Hopsital is located on the second floor near the cafeteria. This chapel also is home to the Sister Ignatia Heritage Center.

Hearing Impaired

Telecommunciations devices (TDD) are available for hearing and/or speech impaired patients and guests at three Summa Health System hospitals: Summa Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals and Summa Barberton Hospital. If you would like to use a TDD unit, please ask your nurse. Summa Health Center at Wadsworth-Rittman has a phone interpreter system and internet relay for hearing impaired patients with TTY equipment. Upon request, the hospital will obtain sign language interpreters from an agency at no cost to the patient.

Ritzman’s Natural Health Pharmacy is located on the campus of Summa Akron City Hospital (The Richard M. and Yvonne Hamlin Pavilion, 95 Arch Street, Akron, OH).

It is a full-service pharmacy and retail store and offers a comprehensive selection of natural and complementary alternatives as well as a large selection of Ritzman’s natural and traditional snack-food items.
