Akron, Ohio, July 17, 2012 – Summa Health System has been named one of 2012 Health Care’s Most Wired hospital organizations for achievement in the use of healthcare IT, according to the results of the recently-released 2012 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study.
The study, which appears in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN) magazine, focuses on how hospitals adopt, implement and use information technology in its infrastructure; and improve business and administrative management, clinical and quality safety, integration and care among the hospital community.
“We are honored to receive this level of recognition as one of the most technologically advanced healthcare systems in the country,” said Greg Kall, Summa Health System’s chief information officer and system vice president of Information Systems. “Using information technology to improve outcomes has been a key part of our strategic plan for several years and will continue to be in the future.”
The Most Wired Survey is conducted annually by H&HN, the journal of the American Hospital Association, which uses the results to name the Most Wired, Most Improved and Most Wired—Small and Rural hospitals and health systems. The 2012 Most Wired Survey is conducted in cooperation with McKesson Corporation, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), and the American Hospital Association.
