Sleep disorders affect 1 in 4 Americans. The more common sleep disorders include insomnia (difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early), insufficient sleep syndrome, snoring, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movements and narcolepsy. "Environmental sleep disorder" is one in which noises or other factors, including a spouse's snoring, disrupt sleep.
