AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 17, 2013 – Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center surgeon Dr. Robert H. Bell was recently named president of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons society, which seeks to foster and advance the science and practice of shoulder and elbow care through education and research.
Dr. Bell, who has been a physician since 1979, specializes in shoulder surgery, with an interest in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. He has received numerous honors and teaching appointments throughout his career and belongs to several local, state and national medical associations. He has been published and presented extensively and is a clinical associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Bell completed his orthopaedic residency at Summa Akron City Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital, after which he undertook a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery with Dr. Richard Hawkins at the University of Western Ontario. Since beginning his practice in 1985, Dr Bell has been a member of the Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center, a partnership with Summa Health System.
Dr. Bell and his wife, Ginger, live in Akron. They have three grown children.
