WADSWORTH, Ohio, June 10, 2013 – Volunteerism is a large part of the culture at Summa Health System, from information desks to the gift shops, volunteers are an important part of helping each Summa hospital run smoothly.
Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and the Summa Health System Auxiliary at Summa Wadsworth Rittman Hospital are looking for volunteers, and summer is the perfect time to sign up.
“Volunteers help enhance the care given to patients and help make the environment even more warm and welcoming,” said Patricia Mills, regional director of volunteer services at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and Summa Barberton Hospital. “Volunteers only need to commit to giving four hours a month, but many individuals want to volunteer more.”
Auxiliary volunteers are currently needed to staff the gift shop and help with other small jobs at the snack bar. Money raised from the gift shop and snack bar are donated to the Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Foundation to fund any number of areas in the hospital.
Red Cross volunteers are also needed at the hospital.
