Research Affiliation Agreement Reached Between Honors College of the University of Akron and Summa Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals
An affiliation agreement has been established between the Honors College of the University of Akron and Summa Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals (SHS) for students working on an Honors Research Project. The Office of Research Administration at SHS is actively working to establish affiliation agreements with other schools, colleges and Universities as mentored research relationships are of great value to students as well as physicians and researchers. The relationships provide students with real world experience, and often strengthen their resume. Physicians and researchers are able to expose students to the advantages of working within their institution, and potential career paths. The affiliation agreements specify the conditions under which students can conduct research at Summa and provide a structure in which mentored research can occur. A Research Policy has been created that outlines and explains the process by which students can be brought into research projects at SHS. The policy can be obtained internally at Students in Research Policy; those outside of SHS may request a copy from email@example.com.
Questions concerning this process can also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
