Cathy Hirt and daughter, Wendi
Third Class Petty Officer Wendi Hirt of the USS Enterprise was looking forward to being home on leave. But, at the same time, her mother Cathy needed to have gall bladder surgery. To ensure she would be better in time for her daughter's visit, Cathy chose to have minimally invasive gall bladder surgery at Summa's Western Reserve Hospital.
"I was expecting when I came home that mom would be sleeping, trying to recover from the pain," Wendy said. "She was up in the kitchen." Mom even made Wendi supper.
And, with little post-operative pain, Cathy took off Friday for the surgery and was back to work on Monday. "I would recommend that type of surgery for anyone through Summa because they are just excellent."Lydia Gassner and son, George - Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio
