Fun Facts: Carly is technically a Lord in Scotland as she owns 1 square foot of land! Her hobbies here at home include doing DIY projects, being outside, and making homemade spaghetti and sauce on Sundays.
Name: Jeanne Nwagwu, D.O.
Medical School: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Jeanne was born and raised in Southern California. She enjoys traveling and her favorite place that she has been is South Africa. Her favorite breed of dog is the Corgi because they are so fluffy! If she could choose to eat one food everyday, it would be street tacos.
Name: Stephanie Rains, M.D.
Medical School: Northeast Ohio Medical University
Fun Facts: In her free time, Stephanie loves to hike with her dog and bake. She has two fish tanks at home- one is filled with African Cichlids and she and her husband nicknamed them "the frat house" as they are a semi-aggressive bunch of guys! Her least favorite food is pizza!

Fun Facts: Originally from Pittsburgh, Aly went to medical school in Blacksburg, VA which sparked her love of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A nature lover, Aly enjoys running, hiking (she backpacked across Spain before starting medical school), and all things outdoors. Her current aspirations include visiting all of the National Parks and finding the best pizza in Northeast Ohio with her husband who is also a resident.

Medical School: Northeast Ohio Medical University
Fun Facts: Sophie grew up in Cleveland, OH. Her favorite things about the Akron area include walking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and biking on the Towpath Trail, as well as enjoying the local coffee shops and bakeries. She loves Summa because of the amazing support from the other residents and the faculty in all aspects of residency!
Name: Pauline Van Dijck, D.O.
Medical School: Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Pauline was born in Belgium and is fluent in Dutch. One of the coolest trips she has taken was to South Africa with her college soccer team. She went on safari and went cage diving with great white sharks! She loves being outdoors, especially going on hikes in the Cuyahoga Valley with her dog, Milou.

Name: Janine Appleton, D.O.

Fun Facts: Janine is from a small town in Connecticut and loves a good iced coconut coffee from Dunkin' Donuts, but is steadily becoming a big hospital Starbucks fan! Janine's favorite food is maple flavored anything. She has a twin sister and is an avid plant collector. She's currently attempting to grow a lime tree in her apartment, so stay tuned for hopefully some fresh margaritas!

Fun Facts: Abigail met her husband on vacation at Myrtle Beach! She danced ballet for 18 years, loves baking and cooking, and hiking portions of the Appalachian Trail.

Fun Facts: During her free time, Meredith enjoys walking her dog, Bubba, on the beautiful trails of Cuyahoga Falls. Her favorite place to vacation is Siesta Key, FL. She also loves to bake for her fiancé, Ryan.

Fun Facts: Gina grew up on a small horse farm in a suburb of Cleveland. She spent over 10 years competing in horseback riding and her family still has 3 horses! She enjoys being active and spending time outdoors. She loves living in the Akron area as it's close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, as well as many other great hiking trails. She and her husband own a miniature Australian Shepherd named Pippa (who also loves hiking)!

Fun Facts: Mikaela had her first baby a month before residency started! She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and German Shepard, Luna. Her favorite season is fall because she loves college football and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes!

Fun Facts: Natalie grew up in Oregon and has 2 different colored eyes! She loves to hike (especially with her dogs) and read. And, she is a huge Harry Potter fan!

Name: Megan Carlson, D.O.
Medical School: Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Megan is a Seattle native and diehard Seahawks fan! Her favorite things to do are running, PELOTON, and wine tasting- especially with her co-residents! She has a 3 year old Weimaraner pup who keeps her very busy! There are two things in life she won’t turn down: Taco Tuesday and pumpkin cream cold brew!
Name: Kylan Hill, D.O.
Medical School: Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Kylan is from Pittsburgh PA. His favorite activities include walking at the Boston Mills Towpath Trail on the weekend with his wife and twins who were born in the Spring of 2021 (and newborn son who was born in the late Summer of 2022)! His favorite place to eat is Darby's on 59 and his favorite rotation is MFM.

Fun Facts: Renae is a transplant to the Akron area from medical school in California, but is loving the area and the people! She is pursuing a fellowship in Urogynecology. She is a real homebody and favorite times are spent on the couch eating home baked goodies and laughing with her husband!

Medical School: Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific
Fun Facts: Olga is a Wisconsin transplant, and yes she loves her Green Bay Packers and cheese! Cheese boards are her specialty. When she is not hosting a Sunday football party, she spends the rest of her time with her doggos. She is the dog mom of two rescue pups who traveled across the country with her to move to Ohio. She is engaged and very excited to be wedding planning!

Fun Facts: Celina loves snowboarding, hiking, and visiting the metro parks. She will get outside whenever possible. She is, self-admittedly, becoming a crazy plant lady! Her favorite aspect of Summa Health is the family environment and supportive culture.
Name: Salina Zhang, M.D.
Medical School: Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
Fun Facts: Akron is the southernmost point that Salina has lived! She was able to name herself. Her favorite part of residency so far has been hanging out with her classmates and learning how to be a great OBGYN in times of COVID-19.

Name: Samantha Boothe, D.O.
Medical School: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Sam love dogs! She has a 10 year old Boxer named Max and just got the cutest puppy named Dany (yes, named after Game of Thrones)! The beach is her favorite place to be. Having played softball, basketball and cheering in high school, then CrossFit throughout medical school, Sam enjoys being active - especially with the pups!
Name: Kitty Kristinsdottir, M.D.

Fun Facts: Kitty was born in Iceland and is fluent in Icelandic, She has played the piano since the age of 6 and loves to backpack(but is definitely not as hardcore as Seth)! Some of her favorite memories from residency are from Night float - you bond so much with your team after being in the tranches together!

Fun Facts: Allie is from Connecticut and loves all things New England... except the Patriots! She got married in September 2020 and her husband is also a resident in Cleveland. She spends a lot of her free time hiking and biking the local trails.
Name: Brian McMains, M.D.
Medical School: Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine
Fun Facts: Brian loves gardening and loves the satisfaction of eating a cherry tomato straight from the vine or adding his homemade fermented Tabasco or habanero hot sauce to everything he eats! He’s looking forward to having his son, Mitchell, help him in the future. Brian is the token Michigan fan of the residency and is a true Wolverine even deep in Buckeye country! When not gardening, another one of Brian’s hobbies is woodworking. His projects include refinishing a hardwood table, building a custom modern barn door and doggie stairs!
Name: Seth Sigler, D.O.
Medical School: Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Seth loves to backpack and be outdoors. He has hiked about 1200 miles of the Appalachian Trail with the longest section being 2 months from Maine to New York State. Seth completed an undergraduate teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative medicine. He loves using OMT on his patients, nurses and fellow residents. He is also an avid supporter of the state fruit of Ohio, the Pawpaw! He tries to go the Pawpaw Festival in Athens, OH each year where he grew up.

Medical School: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Fun Facts: Hannah was born and raised in Pennsylvania, including college in Erie and medical school in Philly. She and her husband have a cat named Dexter and a dog named Keelo. Her hobbies include yoga, hiking in the nearby parks, and listening to true crime podcasts. One of her favorite memories from residency so far is Dr. Monte’s Christmas party!
