Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Announces Summer Employees of the Month

WADSWORTH, Ohio, Sept. 7, 2012 – The Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Employee Recognition Committee has announced four summer Employees of the Month for their service to the hospital and dedication to patient care.


In May, Lisa Smith, a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Department earned this honor. Smith has been an LPN at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for 13 years and an LPN for a total of 28 years. She works full-time on second shift at the hospital and says one of her favorite things about her job is the teamwork involved.

Smith is a member of Summa’s Decon Team and serves on the Professional Nurse Practice Council. She is currently enrolled in courses to obtain her associate’s degree in nursing at Stark State Community College.

Smith grew up in Aliquippa, Pa., and currently resides in Barberton with her husband, George, and their two sons, Derrin and A.J.

Patricia Chamier was named June’s Employee of the Month at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

Chamier has been a registered nurse at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for 9 years. She works part-time on first shift. Chamier also serves on the Unit Practice Council and is a Preceptor, or trainer, for new nurses. One of the things she likes best about working for the hospital is the community atmosphere and family environment.

Chamier was born in Barberton and grew up in Norton. She currently resides in Wadsworth with her husband, Craig, and their six children, Jonathan, Molly, Jamie, Joseph, Patrick and Ben. Chamier enjoys attending her children’s sporting events and spending time with her friends.

Unit Secretary LaNita Donnenwirth of the Medical Surgical Unit was chosen as the July Employee of the Month at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

Donnenwirth has been an employee at the hospital for 15 years and currently works full-time on first shift. Donnenwirth says one of the things she enjoys most about the hospital is her co-workers.

Donnenwirth grew up in Shreve, Ohio, and currently resides in Canal Fulton with her husband and their children. She has one grandchild. Donnenwirth enjoys reading in her spare time.

Atalie Givens was named the August Employee of the Month at Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

Givens has been an employee at the hospital for 7 years and is currently working part-time on first shift. Givens says her favorite things about her job are her co-workers, the patients, and the community surrounding the hospital.

Givens grew up in Fairview, Ohio, and currently resides in Copley with her husband, Sam, and their two boys, Colin and Carson. Givens enjoys working out, running in races, gardening and reading books.
