Addiction Medicine Physician/Psychiatrist – Akron, OH
Summa Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Addiction Medicine Physician or Psychiatrist to join a highly respected, multidisciplinary team. The position offers practice opportunities across both the Akron and Barberton campuses and the chance to be part of a nationally significant legacy in addiction treatment.
In 1939, Sister M. Ignatia of St. Thomas Hospital and Dr. Bob Smith, co founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, established the first hospital based alcoholism treatment unit in the United States. That pioneering program continues today as Ignatia Hall Inpatient Detoxification Unit at Summa Health – Akron Campus.

Qualifications
- Board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Psychiatry
- Addiction Medicine certification through ABPN (Psychiatry) or ABPM(Preventive Medicine)
- Active Ohio medical license or ability to obtain
- Team oriented with strong communication skills
- Experience in palliative care or pain medicine is a plus
