Trauma/Surgical Critical Care/ Acute Care Surgery – Akron, Ohio
Summa Health is seeking a board certified/board eligible Trauma/Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Surgeon to join our team. The selected candidate will become a member of Summa Health Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice of 400+ physicians employed by the Summa Health System. Summa Health- Akron Campus is an ACS verified, State of Ohio designated, Level I Trauma Center with:
- Over 2000 annual adult trauma admissions
- A renovated 85,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Emergency Department providing care to more than 75,000 patients each year
- A 78-bed ICU critical care center
- Summa Health now offers a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility for our patients and staff. At 343,000 square feet and seven stories high, the new patient tower is the new front door to Summa Health- Akron Campus

- The selected candidate will be based at Summa’s main hospital campus in Akron. In addition, trauma surgeons have access to perform procedures at Summa’s Surgery Center in Medina.

Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery as well as Surgical Critical Care
- Acute Care Surgery fellowship, preferred
- Commitment to quality care in a patient-centered, team-based environment
- Active involvement in medical student and resident education
- Energetic pursuit of continued quality and performance improvement
