Cardio Screening

Major diseases often go undetected because signs or symptoms are not obvious. Unfortunately, many times when the symptoms appear it can be too late and an estimated 80 percent of strokes are preventable. Our goal is to provide you with vital information about your cardiovascular condition so you and your physician have the power to get you on the road to better health.

Summa Health System is partnering with HealthFair, the national leader in mobile health screenings, and is the only screening company accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission. Over 75 hospitals trust HealthFair to bring affordable, quality, and life-saving health screenings to people in their communities across North America.

Each month throughout 2013, the mobile bus unit will visit a number of sites surrounding Akron, Canton and Medina. An appointment is required in advance, so please call today for more information.

Heart Disease, Stroke and Aneurysm Prevention

Echocardiogram

A video ultrasound of the heart, which may detect enlargement of the heart, valve abnormalities, blood clots and tumors.

All 6 Tests $179

(valued at $2,300)
12-Lead Electrocardiogram (EKG)

This screening provides a picture of the heart's electrical activity, which may predict pending heart attack, irregular rhythm and more.

Hardening of the Arteries Test (ASI)

The Hardening of the Arteries Test (ASI) measures the flexibility of hardening of the arteries. The stiffer the arteries, the harder the heart has to work and the more long-term damage it will sustain.

Carotid Artery (Stroke) Ultrasound

This ultrasound looks at the carotid arteries in the neck to detect the presence of plaque, one of the leading causes of stroke.

Peripheral Arterial Disease Test (PAD)

Leg cramps due to poor circulation could indicate something more serious. This screening measures the extremities for peripheral arterial disease.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound

This screening checks for aneurysms in the abdomen. The danger lies in the risk of the aneurysm bursting or rupturing. (Four-hour fast required)
