Supporting Summa Health is personal for the Testa family. Kathie and Paul Testa served as co-chairs for the 2016 Sapphire Ball and their children, Joel and Julie, volunteered as members of the corporate committee. Just a few days after the Sapphire Ball was complete, Testa Companies took their support to a new level when Paul and Joel Testa volunteered to have pies thrown at their faces all to support the Breast Cancer Education Fund at Summa Health.
“Everyone had so much fun raising money for this worthy cause and at the main event, the pie throwing,” said Julie Testa Thomasson, “Paul and Joel immediately said yes and could not have been better sports. Our sides hurt from laughing.”
Testa Companies employees raised $810 for the chance to throw the pies at the company leaders in support of breast cancer awareness month.
“We chose to support Summa Health because we wanted our donations to stay local. What better local facility than Summa,” said Kathie Testa.
