About the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship

Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio offers an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine. The program provides Fellows a unique opportunity to serve as Geriatric Medicine Specialists within a community hospital environment and an organized healthcare delivery system. The evidence-based curriculum is designed to train and enable physicians to assume positions of leadership in the field of Geriatric Medicine as clinicians, educators and administrators. The rotations provide broad experiences in clinical settings and extensive exposure to community-based services. It is expected that the Geriatric Medicine Fellows assume a “junior faculty” role in these rotations and will be directly involved in teaching medical students, residents and allied health professionals throughout their training.
