Epilepsy Center

The Summa Health Epilepsy Center provides comprehensive care through a multidisciplinary team along the entire continuum of care from evaluation to diagnosis to treatment to living with epilepsy and epilepsy-related health conditions and non-epileptic seizures.

Summa Health Epilepsy Care

Your patient-centered care team includes epileptologists (neurologists with expertise in treating epilepsy and seizures), neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, electroencephalogram (EEG) technologists, social workers, an integrative pharmacist and others with training and experience in epilepsy and seizure care.

We offer many treatments, including medication, special diets and psychiatry services. We also provide noninvasive evaluations for epilepsy surgery for the surgical options to treat epilepsy:

  • Responsive neurostimulation
  • Vagus nerve stimulation

The Summa Health Epilepsy Center facilitates community-based services for your medical and psychosocial well-being and for everyone supporting you living with epilepsy.

Additionally, a culture of collaboration between Summa Health and Akron’s Children’s Level 4 Epilepsy Center offers a comprehensive approach to treating children transitioning to adult care and adults diagnosed with epilepsy-related conditions.
