A stroke can be overwhelming for a patient and their family. Following is a list of organizations that provide support to stroke survivors and their caregivers, along with applicable contact information.

Summa Health System Life After Stroke Support Group

Life After Stroke provides a forum for stroke survivors and their families to share ideas and solve problems after stroke. A health professional from Summa’s rehabilitation staff facilitates each meeting, with community speakers lending their expertise on successful living after a stroke. Please join our group to receive:

  • Information related to post-stroke concerns and stroke prevention
  • Opportunities to discuss experiences in a supportive setting
  • Healthy coping strategies to improve quality of life

The meetings are currently being held the second Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to noon at Summa Rehab Hospital, 29 North Adams Street, Akron, OH 44304.
