Summa Health’s Telemedicine Stroke Program
At Summa Health, we use advanced technologies to quickly evaluate patients, get test results and start treatment that includes the telestroke virtual consultation and artificial intelligence (AI) imaging. A comprehensive team uses these technologies to ensure patients have better outcomes.
- Virtual Telestroke Consultations: Virtual telestroke technology gives our board-certified stroke neurologist 24/7 visual access to help diagnose and treat stroke patients faster.
- Artificial Intelligence Imaging: High-resolution imaging using artificial intelligence (AI) for pathology detection is conducted minutes after arrival at the emergency room.
- Thrombolytic Therapy: A thrombolytic medication works by dissolving a blood clot. Although this is a proven therapy for stroke, only a limited number of patients will receive this therapy because of the short amount of time that it can be safely administered once stroke symptoms have started. Research studies have shown that people who arrive in the emergency room quickly enough after a stroke to receive the clot buster have a better chance of functional recovery than those who do not.
