AKRON, Ohio, March 13, 2020 – In an effort to reduce the outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19, Summa Health through its Summa Health Virtual Visit E-Visits announced today the availability of free screenings for COVID – 19 and e-visits for specific health conditions.
Patients can visit Summahealth.org/virtualvisit and choose the e-visit service. A tool will screen patients and determine potential COVID-19 exposure, then implement a triage system to best treat those patients. If an e-visit is recommended, it will be free of charge for COVID-19 and other associated conditions.
The service is normally $29, and is available for over 30 diagnoses, but will be free for the screening of COVID-19 and e-visits for COVID-19, flu, sinus infections, hay fever and allergies.
The e-visit platform and screening is available 24/7/365. Providers are available, and will answer visits within an hour of completion, from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
Summa Health created a Coronavirus Call Line within the Clinical Access Center to answer general questions about Coronavirus COVID-19. The line is answered by trained, clinical staff 24/7. The number is 234.867.6314. Since opening the line on March 4, Summa Health nurses have answered nearly 300 calls.
