AKRON, Ohio, September 15, 2021– SummaCare announced today that it is launching the Preferred Choice Network, a new commercial network comprised of Summa Health, Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital. The new network, effective October 1, 2021, will provide members with broad access to approximately 14,000 physicians and providers and 20 facilities across the three healthcare organizations’ northeast Ohio locations.
Included in the Preferred Choice Network is Cleveland Clinic Akron General, meaning members will have access to both of Akron’s Level 1 adult trauma centers.
“This offering would not be possible without collaboration between SummaCare, Summa Health, Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital,” said Bill Epling, SummaCare president. “The Preferred Choice Network provides a high quality, cost-competitive network across northeast Ohio. Equally important, it underscores our shared desire to provide our members with access to the very best healthcare across the region.”
