Daniel Serafini- Over a period of about a month and a half, I was finding it harder and harder to breathe, getting short of breath. My Pulse Ox dropped to 83%, which is scary low. I was able to get an appointment at the Pulmonary Office at Summa Stow-Kent Medical Center.

They referred me immediately to the Akron campus for further testing. The CT scan revealed that I had numerous blood clots in both lungs, which can be immediately life-threatening, so they rushed me across the street to the emergency room where the Pulmonary Embolism Rapid Response Team was waiting for me. This group of remarkable doctors saved my life.

After three days in the hospital, I was well enough to go home on anticoagulants. Since then, I've been feeling better, and as the saying goes, "When you can't breathe, nothing else matters." So, thanks to the team at Summa, my breathing is back to normal, and I'm able to enjoy my life doing the things I love.
