Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Training

Advanced emergency medical technicians (AEMTs) provide advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system.

Course Information

The AEMT training course is approximately 200 hours in length. Class times and days will be determined prior to the beginning of each class by the courses lead instructor.

Course Overview

The curriculum is designed to teach the AEMT student how to treat a patient based on their physical assessment findings, and signs and symptoms. The AEMT is trained to perform basic life support skills (BLS) and some advanced life support skills in the pre-hospital setting.

The course is approximately 6 months in duration.

Initial Requirements

  • 18 Years of Age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • State of Ohio or NREMT Certification
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Valid AHA CPR Provider Certification
