As you may have heard, Green Fire Department had a media event today wherein they honored the excellent work of the Green Firefighters, the
neighbor who provided bystander CPR, the Summa ED Team, and the Summa ICU & Cardiology teams who all contributed to saving the life of a 27
week pregnant woman named Tracy Anton who suddenly arrested last month. The "chain of survival" worked so well that the time from 911 call to
first defibrillation was only 4 minutes. That's incredible! ROSC was obtained, mom was taken to the ICU, baby was born the next day via C-section
(is still premature but is reportedly progressing well), and mom now survived neuro-intact to thank the team that saved her life.
Dr. Gilstorf, who worked on the patient personally, got to meet (and hug!) her - it's amazing to see her do so well. Dr. Mudrakola also worked on the
patient and was integral to her care. I'm proud of our team at Summa - the system worked the way it was supposed to.
