Advanced Practice Provider Executive Council (APPEC)
- The Advanced Practice Provider Executive Council (APPEC) functions as a professional governance entity within Summa Health System (SHS), guiding and supporting Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) through a structured framework that encourages professional identity and accountability at all levels. The Council is dedicated to the consistent delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care by APPs.
- APPEC is devoted to reducing obstacles to practice, thereby improving both access and the quality of healthcare services. The Council places significant emphasis on provider collaboration and the efficient deployment of APPs across all SHS facilities.
- APPEC serves as a platform for committees to share insights, develop solutions, and drive innovation. It assumes responsibility for recommending, revising, or initiating policies, procedures, and processes that reflect and further APPEC’s mission.
- The Council comprises various key groups, including council officers, subcommittees each led by a committee chair, APP leadership, and representatives from medical, nursing, and organizational leadership.
