At Summa Health, we know a cancer diagnosis can be frightening, perhaps even overwhelming. Your diagnosis may involve multiple specialists and treatment choices. Your options may include procedures and treatments that are not familiar to you, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy.
Thoracic cancers are in the lungs or chest region including: esophageal, thymus, lung and mesothelioma. Lung cancer is the most common type of thoracic cancer; it’s also the leading cause of cancer death among both males and females. At Summa Health, our team is working to improve the prognosis of lung cancer patients and we use the most advanced invasive and less invasive treatment options to fight cancer.
By visiting Summa Health’s Thoracic Multidisciplinary Clinic (MDC), our team of cancer experts will design a coordinated, comprehensive and personalized plan of care for you using nationally recognized best practice guidelines.
Our MDC provides not just one opinion, but rather many. We bring our caring team of passionate cancer experts from different specialties together to review all of your clinical information. These specialists include:
In the Thoracic MDC, you are an active participant in your cancer treatment decision-making. You will meet in-person or virtually with the specialists to discuss your care options. Together, we will develop a treatment plan that works for you and your family.
