Orthopedic Oncology
Orthopedic oncology is a specialized field dedicated to diagnosing and treating tumors that develop in bones, muscles, fat, tendons and other soft tissues. While many of these tumors are benign, others require highly specialized care. Our orthopedic oncology team collaborates with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
The Summa Health Orthopedic Institute is home to one of only seven orthopedic oncologists practicing in Ohio. Scott D. Weiner, M.D., cares for patients from across northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia, providing expert treatment for both common and rare musculoskeletal tumors.
