Spine Care

The Summa Health spine team treats a wide range of painful, yet common spinal conditions, including neck and back pain, herniated discs, and spinal trauma.

Spine Conditions

Have you been living with recurring back pain, neck pain, or weakness, numbness and/or pain down your arms or legs? Is it affecting your quality of life and ability to perform daily activities? If so, your pain may be the result of a spinal condition, such as:

Spine Treatment

The Summa Health Orthopedic spine team can treat these painful, yet common spinal conditions. During your consultation, all options will be explored and tailored individually to you. Conservative methods, such as new medications and outpatient therapy, are considered first, followed by discussion of the risks and benefits of possible surgical intervention.

If you are a candidate for surgery, we may be able to treat your spinal condition through a minimally invasive approach. Compared to traditional open surgery, minimally invasive procedures result in:

  • Less anesthesia
  • Faster recovery and return to activities
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Smaller incisions and less scarring
  • Less soft tissue and muscle damage
  • Less surgical blood loss
  • Reduced risk of infection

During your office visit, you are encouraged to ask questions. Your role as an active participant in the decision-making process is the first step toward recovery and peace of mind.
