  • Vulvar disorders

Symptoms

Symptoms associated with pelvic pain include the following:

  • Pain in the pelvic area
  • Pain before, during or after urination
  • Pain unassociated with your menstrual period
  • Difficulty passing stools, diarrhea or constipation.

Chronic Pelvic Pain Diagnosis

Your healthcare provider will perform a complete pelvic exam which can include a Pap test. Blood and urine tests will be conducted to determine if you have any type of infection. Also, your doctor may recommend testing to ensure you do not have a sexually transmitted disease.

If the tests are inconclusive, your physician may schedule a transvaginal ultrasound, MRI or CT scan.
