Visitation Guidelines

Masking is optional when entering our facilities. There are some conditions that require masks based upon the patient’s condition. If you do not have a surgical mask, one will be provided to you. Please follow instructions on signage that may be posted on the patient’s door.

We have established a new visitation policy for Summa Health, effective October 14, 2024:

  • Visitation is available 24/7
  • Maternity
  • There are established hours where access to the facilities is limited and/or controlled. During these times (8:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. daily) visitors must utilize the after-hour/night entrances.
  • All admitted patients are generally allowed two visitors at a time. Visitors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Overnight visitation is restricted to one adult visitor per patient.
  • Behavioral Health Inpatient Care - Visitation guidelines (available daily; limited hours)

Visitors must check in with Protective Services at these checkpoints. Protective Services will call the nursing units and verify whether the patient is accepting visitors.

Visitation may be restricted under certain circumstances. All visitors are expected to abide by any isolation precautions that are part of the patient’s care, including the wearing of protective mask and attire. The physician reserves the right to restrict visitation based on infection risk and/or non-adherence to isolation precautions by visitors.

Anyone with questions on visitation restrictions can contact 234.867.6314.

Friends and family with patients will not be allowed to visit if they have a cough, fever or respiratory symptoms or if they have been exposed to COVID-19.

We also offer Virtual Visit E-Visits for online screenings of COVID-19 and specific health conditions like COVID-19, flu, sinus infections, hay fever and allergies.

The Summa Health 24/7 COVID-19 hotline is answered by trained clinical staff to answer questions about the COVID-19 Coronavirus Disease. The call line remains open. The phone number is 234.867.6314.

Please note: Guidelines may be updated often to reflect the community's current need. Please check these guidelines prior to each visit for the most up-to-date information.
