AKRON, OH — January 28, 2025 – Summa Health announced today that it is one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2025, according to new research released by Healthgrades. As a result of its consistently superior patient care, Summa Health has attained the highest achievement Healthgrades offers, placing the organization in the top 1 percent of U.S. hospitals for overall care excellence for the second consecutive year.

In addition to this top honor for overall clinical care, Summa Health is the recipient of numerous accolades related to its outstanding performance in key specialty service areas, including neurological, cardiac and critical care, among others. Summa Health’s achievements are based exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’ annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility.

As care variation grows, consumers must find and select a top-rated hospital to maximize their chances of a successful outcome.
