Join us for Summa Health’s Inaugural Epilepsy Symposium

Join Summa Health’s award-winning neurology team for an opportunity to learn about various therapies and devices used to treat patients with epilepsy. From neurostimulation and neuromodulation devices, to vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and sleep therapy, Summa Health’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center offers specialized, comprehensive care tailored to meet every patient’s needs.

Epilepsy is a neurological disease affecting over 65,000 people in Northeast Ohio, more than 3.4 million people in the United States, and more than 65 million people worldwide. Over a lifetime, 1 and 26 U.S. people will be diagnosed with epilepsy. Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disease, after migraines, stroke and Alzheimer’s.

Annually, 70,000 patients are admitted and receive care at comprehensive epilepsy centers yet only 3,000 epilepsy surgery procedures are performed each year. This demonstrates the importance of closing the epilepsy treatment gap in comprehensive epilepsy care.
