About Us

Who is Summa Health Network (SHN)?

Summa Health Network is the Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) for Summa Health, representing over 2,300 physicians at Summa Health’s member hospitals.  SHN offers membership to the following provider types: physicians, advance practice nurses, optometrists, chiropractors, podiatrists and physician assistants.

Why join SHN?

SHN offers provider members abundant resources while focusing on our goals and assisting in all aspects of provider practices including credentialing and managed care contracting.

What is SHN’s goal?

SHN aims to serve as a mechanism to effectively align and engage community providers with Summa Health while preparing and advancing providers into value-based agreements with NewHealth Collaborative.

Credentialing

  • Simplified credentialing process
  • SHN completes a single credentialing file for each provider member which is passed to their selected payers
  • SHN updates demographic changes to payers on the providers behalf

Managed Care Contracting

  • SHN negotiates non-economic contractual terms with payers
  • Member choice via Messenger Model
  • Providers can update their payer preferences any time of the year

SHN Educational Opportunities

SHN offers many educational seminars, resources, and events throughout the year that are free of charge to all SHN provider members and their staff such as:

  • Updates from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services
  • Coding seminars with continuing educational credits available
