The Summa Health ED consists of four emergency care facilities located throughout Akron and surrounding areas staffed 24/7 by emergency medicine teams. Our Akron Campus Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, verified by the American College of Surgeons, also is staffed with fellowship-trained trauma surgeons who can provide the highest surgical care around the clock.
Summa Health emergency rooms accept all emergency patients, whether or not insured, and all Summa Health entities accept most major insurance plans. While we make every attempt to see patients in the order in which they arrive, the care being given to critically ill or injured patients may take priority and cause delay.
