Energizing Yoga

Caring for others can be exhausting. In this first session, learn how to activate, strengthen and exercise your mind and body through a sun salutation. During this practice, you will learn simple poses & breathing techniques, which can easily be done to replenish your energy.

Relaxation Yoga

During this second session, you will focus on gentle stretching, breathing exercises, and guided meditation to increase relaxation and the ability to express the best version of yourself when caring for others. This restorative practice can be done anytime of day to help you relax.

Kevin James Karas, E-RYT 500, has a mission to educate and grow the community of people seeking wellness in mind, body and spirit. He manifests this mission as Executive Director of Elevate Akron, a yoga nonprofit organization which has served to make yoga accessible to 13,000 people. He conducts research at The University of Akron on the contemplative practices and presence of master teachers of yoga, meditation, & holistic education. He applies his studies by leading a 200 hour holistic yoga school hosted at his intentional living community founded in 2016. He also facilitates Guided Sound Journey meditations alongside SEER music to make meditation accessible online at Insight Timer. Lastly, he teaches ongoing yoga classes & workshops in the community to raise students’ self-awareness and live more meaningful lives at yoga studios, community centers and festivals such as Yoga Squared & the JCC Shaw in Akron, OH.
