Teen Volunteer Program

Summa Health’s Teen Volunteer Program is a great opportunity for high school students to gain experience in a health care environment. It is also a great way for students to fulfill any service hour requirements they might have. This program is developed to assist students in networking, and help them build necessary skills.
Teen Volunteer Program at Summa Health

This opportunity is available for high school students who are 14- 17 years of age. The program occurs for 10 weeks in the Summer from June to August.

The application for the summer 2025 program opens on Saturday, March 1st 2025, and closes on Friday, April 11th, 2025. Any application submitted before, or after, these dates will not be accepted.

Applications will be reviewed at the close of the application period. Students accepted into this year’s program will receive an acceptance email, and packet mailed to your address with further instruction. Students not accepted will receive an email notification.

Volunteer Expectations for Teen Program:

  • Volunteers must be available a minimum of 8 out of the 10 week program.
  • Volunteers must attend and participate in a minimum of 70% of their scheduled shifts.
  • Volunteers that are accepted into the program must complete all on boarding requirements within the timeframe given upon acceptance. If the requirements are not completed by the scheduled deadlines, the volunteer will be removed from the program.

Students who successfully complete the program by meeting all expectations will be able to use Summa Health as a reference, receive verified hours from Summa Volunteer Services, and receive a letter of recommendation. These hours will boost their resume, and look great on college applications.
