Anesthesiology
Objectives:
- To develop a number of manipulative skills that are clinically useful while assisting in anesthetizing patients.
- To review and apply the basic sciences of physiology and pharmacology in the clinical setting.
Description:
- Preoperative visit, data collection, anesthesia plan-risk evaluation, choice of agents and techniques.
- Operating room: maintaining anesthesia state, maintaining physiology, I.V.s, airway establishment, intubation, and ventilator use.
- Recovery room and post anesthesia rounds - anesthesia complications.
- Student to observe special problems in ICU-CCU, maternity, emergency room.
- Daily discussion session on pertinent clinical topics.
Night Call/Special Requirements:
Night call one night per week, but may be arranged as suitable.
