Neurology

Objectives:

  1. To develop skills in neurologic history, neurologic exam, and neurodiagnostic testing.
  2. To develop a pertinent differential diagnosis and understand basic principles of treatment.

Description:

  1. The student will work closely and in conjunction with the resident on that particular service which he/she chooses.
  2. Rounds will be made six days per week (excluding Sundays) by the attending, resident, and student.
  3. The student will see each new patient on the service, take a careful history, perform a neurological examination and pertinent medical examination, and then present the findings and diagnostic appraisal to the resident and/or attending.
  4. Selective reading assignments will be made.
  5. A syllabus will be provided.
