Thank you for your interest in our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship here at Summa Health. We are a well-established ACGME-accredited fellowship program and we pride ourselves on strong, experienced and dedicated faculty and support staff. We have opportunities for a wide variety of clinical experiences for fellows. One of the highlights of our program is a strong wellness program, including weekly protected time for support group sessions, book club, attending monthly Schwartz center rounds, family outings, etc. We work closely with our Geriatrics fellowship program and have combined noon conferences. We require and support fellows to attend the AAHPM conference and Communication skills workshops. Our mission is to prepare the physicians as providers, consultants and leaders of tomorrow in hospice and palliative medicine.
The mission of the Summa Health System Hospice & Palliative Medicine fellowship is to prepare physicians as providers, consultants and leaders of tomorrow in hospice and palliative medicine. We are a community-based practice and our fellows get to train in a robust inpatient consult service and hospice and palliative care unit as well as outpatient facility. Our training revolves around Summa Health’s mission, which is to provide the highest quality, compassionate care to our patients and members.
The fellowship will prepare fellows to enter the practice of Palliative Medicine and provide humane evidence-based interdisciplinary palliative care to the full spectrum of patients with advanced illness. The fellows will be ready to:
