A: Upon matching at Summa Health System, a representative from our relocation service will contact you. They will assist you to find the perfect housing opportunity to fit your needs. Summa will cover the cost of the relocation service.
All new incoming residents may request, upon a signed contract, an advance of $1,000. Repayment of this advance is handled through payroll deductions of $50 per pay from the first year’s salary.
A: Summa Health System is a very “couple friendly” place. As a multi-residency hospital, we frequently benefit from couples that have matched with us. Our excellent relationship with the other residency programs has allowed us to work very well in accommodating couples.

A: Summa Health System is a major teaching institution of the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM), a community-based state medical school that awards the medical degree and, through consortial arrangements with the University of Akron, Kent State University and Youngstown State University, offers a combined B.S./M.D. program and Ph.D. programs in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.
NEOUCOM and its 18 associated hospitals cosponsor graduate and continuing medical education programs for residents, physicians and allied health professionals. The majority of active staff physicians at Summa Health System have appointments to NEOUCOM’s clinical faculty.
